Biography

FUCK YEAH!
Embrace yourselves for Death Destruction!

While there are many monikers that could be applied to Gothenburg based metal outfit Death Destruction – super group, side-project, hobby-band – not one is correct. Rather, one could view the band as the collective results of four master musicians joining forces.

With a background in progressive metal (Evergrey), power-metal (Hammerfall) or metal-core (Dead By April), the members Henrik Danhage, Jonas Ekdahl, Fredrik Larsson and Jimmie Strimell prove that the sum of their efforts reach far beyond the separate components. And if you think you could get an idea based on the members other bands what Death Destruction sounds like, think again.

This is powerful music; aggressive yet lean and flexible. And don’t let Jimmie’s in-your-face-growling intimidate you. Behind the angry vocals you’ll find a groove and heaviness that prompts the bands own explanation “ZZ Top on steroids”.

First single, “Fuck Yeah” packs a heavy punch and has already become a staple of the band’s live set with it’s characteristic call and response-chorus. The video, directed by Patric Ullaeus, sees the band in the studio joined by a bunch of friends in other Gothenburg bands such as In Flames, Hammerfall, Mustasch, Dark Tranquillity and Hardcore Superstar, among others. Recorded completely live without any overdubs, it showcases the strength of the band as well as Jimmie’s powerful vocals and front-manship.

The debut-album “Death Destruction” is recorded in Gothenburg, at IF-Studios and is produced by Roberto Laghi – the producer behind In Flames, LOK and Hardcore Superstar etc. It is released in Sweden late august.

During the autumn, the band will hit the roads opening for Hammerfall, seeing bass player Fredrik performing double-gigs all the way; this is symptomatic for Death Destructions work ethics. Despite their backgrounds in successful bands, they realize this is a clean start and are working hard to build a base to take DD to the next level. The Hammerfall tour visits most European countries, and stretches from mid-october to mid December, playing 1500 – 4000 capacity halls.
